New Area!

Hello everyone, I hope that you have all had a good week! For me it has been a crazy one to say the least, it was transfers. I am now in Henderson and my new companion is Sister Sanchez! We both came out at the same time and both just finished training! Some crazy stuff.

This week has been full of getting to know people and the area!

This last Saturday we had a baptism for a little boy named Richard, he is so cute! He has been taking the discussions from the missionaries and wanted to be baptized on his birthday how cute! I love it so much! It was such a good little program and I was very happy that I was able to be a part of it with him! It doesn't matter what age you are, the gospel is here for everyone, and can change all of our lives!

This week it has rained twice! In Vegas that is crazy! The first time we went out and danced in the rain, haha! And then today it was raining a lot but we still wanted to play volleyball so we did! It was rain-sleet, a little snow! I was so happy! The rain smells so good and I love it so much, just a little blessing from God! There is supposed to be a big snow storm tonight so we will see if it happens.

This last Sunday was the Stake Conference! It was so much fun, in the middle of the week we got a text that said the stake president wanted one of us to say the prayers, but in Spanish! Ah! Well it ended up that I was going to do it! It was such a great experience! The speakers all did a great job and brought an amazing spirit and then we sang The Spirit of God. The spirit was so strong of the love that God has for each and every one of us. And I was able to end it all with a prayer in Spanish! It was such a net experience and one that I am grateful that I was a part of!

The scripture that I want to share with you guys today is Mosiah 3:17:

“And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.”

Remember the Lord, remember all that the lord has done for you! Life gets hard and sometimes it is not going to get easy, but if we remember the Atonement and all that God has done for us then things aren't going to be fixed but it is going to be better!

I love you all and hope that things are good for you!

Sunrise Mountain Area

HI everyone I hope that you have had a great week! This week we have transfers and I am leaving Sunrise Mountain, I will be going to Cassell Ridge and Valley Verde with Hermana Sanchez and I will be leaving tomorrow. I have loved this area and the people here, I’ve been blessed to get to know them. But I’m off to a new adventure!

This week nothing too big has happened, we were able to have some homemade danishes in the parking lot of the church while looking at the temple. Saying goodbye to families, and having a good last district council.

This week I want to share with you all, the end of Alma 20:29

29 And when Ammon did meet them he was exceedingly sorrowful, for behold they were naked, and their skins were worn exceedingly because of being bound with strong cords. And they also had suffered hunger, thirst, and all kinds of afflictions; nevertheless they were patient in all their sufferings.

I love that last line, no matter what, they never gave up! They turned towards the Lord and gave all they had. Being patient and knowing in time that the Lord was going to help them. And He did, so turn to the Lord.

I love you all and have an amazing week!!!

Yes, I am in a Relationship With God!

Hola everyone, I hope you are all doing well! School is back in session and work, but I bet it is nice to get back to the routine! This week has been, I would say, my busiest one. Overall we had 44 lessons this week! Each day was packed and it was non stop! It was such a good thing that President has lit a fire under us all, that is what needs to be done. It is the time to Gather Israel. Bringing all to a knowledge of the gospel, and showing them the joy that it can bring into our lives.

This week a lot has happened but one thing that was insane and crazy actually happened in my apartment complex! We were walking outside to get into our car, but before I can get into the car I have to back Hermana Krieger out. I was standing and waiting behind her, all of the sudden this car drove by, it was this big black van I saw only one guy in the car! I said “hi” and asked him how his day was, trying to be nice and friendly. He said good and started to slow down and really look at me. All of a sudden I saw two of them in the car. I looked forward hoping that he would move along, but all of the sudden I hear from the car, "Hey, are you married?" Not thinking I hurry and respond, "No". And then a follow up question " Do you have a boyfriend?" My good sense finally came back to me and I responded, "Yes I do!" After that the big black van drove away and I hurried and jumped into the car. Oh my goodness, you have to love Vegas people. I was telling Hermana Krieger, "Yes! I am in a relationship with God right now!" Haha (What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.)

Then we went over to Kathy's this week! What an amazing experience, we talked about temples! We went through the whole pamphlet and when we got to Baptism for the Dead, we told her that once she is baptized that she can take names of people and relatives who have passed on and be baptized for them. This really got her attention, understanding that this is something she can help others with! Then we got to the endowment, and her face lit up. We told her that this is a gift from God being able to take this first step in the temple. The most amazing thing ever was the spirit that was in the room. It was the strongest spirit that I have felt on the mission! We were also able to go over sealings that once she is baptized she will be able to be sealed to her husband forever. I was able to share my testimony with her about temples and what they mean to me! And how it is something that has blessed my life in ways that I can't even describe! But being able to be with my family forever and the peace and comfort that I am able to feel, and more! The most amazing thing was how the spirit was able to teach her, it was cool to feel how the spirit works. We are the instruments and we are there so the spirit can teach.

This has been an amazing week! And so excited to see how the Lord will continue to work with me and make me into the person he wants me to be!

I want to share a scripture with you that I found this week! Ether 12:41

41 And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen.

I encourage you all to find out who Jesus Christ is to you!!! He is someone that has helped me so much in the last little while. He has been here for me when I feel there is no one! I love Jesus Christ so much and I am so grateful for all that He has done for me! I invite you to find out for yourself what he means to you this week!!!

Have an amazing week and I love you all!!!

"Is He Still Alive?"

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope that everyone had an amazing holiday and have made some goals that are going to help you this year. One thing that I did this year that I haven't really ever done was make goals, haha oops. Because this year I will be a missionary for the whole year 2021, how crazy is that! But when I made my goals I put a picture of Jesus with them so now I will really be held accountable for them, haha! I think this is something that is going to be good for me and help me really be able to see my progress. I hope that you all have the chance to reflect and make new goals, it is an amazing thing when you ask God for help!

This last Wednesday was Gunnar’s Baptism, it was amazing. He is such a cute old guy and I know that it is going to be good for him. On Wednesday we got everything set up, we had a nice little dinner with the Halls before and then met them there. We had a good little group there to support him. I was able to speak on baptism and Hermana Krieger spoke on the gift of the Holy Ghost. Then it was time they both got in the font, (let me hurry and remind you that Bro. Hall that is baptizing his 60’s and Gunnar being baptized is 82!) Brother Hall said the prayer and baptized him and got him up barely, haha. They unplugged the font and all of the sudden all of the Elders in our district come running up saying they have to do it again! He didn't say in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Well, we ran and got both of them. Gunner tried to put the plug in, he got in the font and went under the water, I feel like his head was under the water for more than 2 minutes or more and he didn't come up for air at all. All of the sudden you hear a member in the back say "Is he alive?" We thought he was dead and then all of the sudden he popped his head up and said “well, I can’t get it in”, Haha! We told them to hurry and do it again while there was still water in the font. They did the prayer and said it right but then Brother Hall couldn't lift Gunner back up. So after a hot second he grabbed his shoulders of his jump suit and just yanked him up. It was all so good and the spirit was there. We were also able to have a good laugh.

But what is so cool about the whole situation is Gunner is going to Puerto Rico. He got baptized on the 30th, then confirmed on the 3rd and left for Puerto Rico on the 4th. How crazy that it all just was able to work out. Gunner needs a little looking after and it would be awesome for him to still meet with the missionaries down there. Well it turns out I remembered I have a friend in Puerto Rico. Nick Thorpe is serving there. I messaged him and told him about Gunnar and the situation, asked if we could do a video call so he could get to know them, and feel better about him going there as a new member and his situation. Also so we could get his records there so he could start to meet with the missionaries in Puerto Rico. It worked out, we were able this last week to do a video call with Elder Thorpe and his comp., Gunner, Hermana Krieger and Me! It was so cool! What a miracle, and it all worked out. God works in mysterious ways. And what a small world that it is!

He was confirmed and it was beautiful he had so many members in the circle with him, what a blessing and reminds me how blessed we are to have the amazing power of the priesthood in our life's today.

Then today for the district activity we went to the church and had a nerf gun war. Let me tell you it was so much fun to run around and shoot at each other and capture the flag.

This week I want to share with you, Alma 2:30.

30 And it came to pass that Alma, being a man of God, being exercised with much faith, cried, saying: O Lord, have mercy and spare my life, that I may be an instrument in thy hands to save and preserve this people

Because of this new year I encourage you all to find a way that you can be an instrument in the hands of the Lord this year! Because once we are willing to help others, God is going to give us the things that we are in need of! Remember Him always and he will bless you!

I love you all and I hope that you all have an amazing week.

Gunner's Baptism Tomorrow!!!

Well everyone, another week. I am so excited for tomorrow, we have our baptism for Gunner. I can't believe that it is already here! He is so ready, for years he has been preparing himself and he didn't see it until now. It really shows how God prepares us for things and we don't even know it!

On Christmas night we were able to go over and have dinner with Brother Chamberlain, his family and Sindy. We had a good dinner, not traditional but it was good. We were able to share an amazing spiritual thought and at the end I was able to invite Sindy to be baptized and she accepted. She is going to be baptized on the 14th of January. Things are going well here. And we are so excited!

The work is something that is amazing. Teaching others about the restored gospel and the blessings that they can receive when they accept it for themselves is amazing!

Yesterday it rained in Vegas, it is so crazy! I love the rain so much and it smelled so good. The best part of it all was there was a rainbow, I haven't seen one in so long and it was right next to the temple. I went out to take a picture and naturally it was gone. Haha, little things that God does to brighten my day.

Nothing happened too big in the last few days but I hope that you all are going to have an amazing New Year!

This week something that I want to share with you is Moroni 7:43-48

43 And again, behold I say unto you that he cannot have faith and hope, save he shall be meek, and lowly of heart.

44 If so, his faith and hope is vain, for none is acceptable before God, save the meek and lowly in heart; and if a man be meek and lowly in heart, and confesses by the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ, he must needs have charity; for if he have not charity he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have charity.

45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—

47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.

48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.

I love these verses so much, the reminder that in order to give yourself fully to the Lord we have to have Charity. This is showing how important that it is but how hard it can be to gain it. Pray unto the Lord for the help that you are in need of, when you see others the way that God sees them things in life are going to become easier and life is going to be happier. I am not telling you I am perfect; this is something that I am working on each and every day. But the one thing that I am telling you is to pray to God to ask him to help you and to help you through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know as you continue to turn your thoughts and actions to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ you will be blessed.

I hope that you all have an amazing week and a wonderful New Year!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hope that everyone is having an amazing day and spending time with your families. Remembering our Savior and being with our family is all that matters on this day. For some families this is the only day that everyone can be together, and I hope that you all take advantage of it!

Covid has made it an interesting year, but it doesn't matter what covid does we can still have the love and the support of all of our loved ones around us and make sure that we make the best of every moment. Thank you to everyone who wished me a Merry Christmas. I appreciate it a lot!

Today has been an amazing day and one that I am going to remember. We got up and studied. We then got to open all of our gifts from our family and friends. It was so much fun! I was able to talk to my family, I loved it so much. This was a time that all of my family was together and what a soft spot in my heart it makes me so happy to see all of them and what amazing people God has blessed me with.

We had a district what elephant gift exchange. We all found something out of a missionary apartment and took it. It was a lot of fun to be with my district and so see them on such a happy day of the year. There were a lot of crazy things, we took a whoopie cushion and Christmas toilet paper and all of the old candy out of our cupboards, Haha. I got a rubber ducky, these weird chickens that you fling around the room, and one of my favorites reeses pieces. Tonight we have a devotional from one of the 12 apostles Elder Anderson, a meal with a member and an investigator, and we are going to deliver notes to everyone in our area. Over all an amazing Christmas and hope you all had the same.

Really fast this week has been a good one, we had an amazing Christmas program that I got to be a part of. Getting Gunner ready to be baptized next week! yayay!!! We had a Christmas zone conference, we were able to make ornaments for people we are teaching, we had an amazing church tour with Juan y Jennifer. I hope that they are going to be put on date soon. They are making good progress! We helped the ward with their relief society Christmas program. You guys are a miracle. I have not got a coat yet because I was called to Vegas, and it has not rained here in almost a year. Well last Tuesday I talked with my mom and we thought it would be a good Idea to get one and the next day was this activity. I bought my new coat and all of the sudden it started raining. It was AMAZING! What a blessing from God, I had something so I would not get wet and it felt a little more like Christmas with the rain. It smelled so good and the strip looked amazing (from our apartment)! This week I have had some ups and downs but over all God has blessed me with amazing people and amazing work!

This week because it is Christmas I invite you all to watch The Christ Child if you haven't. This is something that is a good reminder to us, a video that we should all cherish and love! Because of Jesus Christ we all receive the opportunity to live with our families forever. But He has given us the world! He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for each and every one of us. He knows the hurt and the pain that we are all going through each and every day! Because of him we get the opportunity to be resurrected and live in the kingdom with God again. Please do not take Jesus Christ for granted he is here for you and is just waiting for you to call out for him. Isn't he your best friend because he is mine! So remember that precious little baby boy today and forever and all that he has given to you.

I love you all so much and hope you have the most amazing week ever. Love you all!
