Hello everyone!!! Let me start out and say that it has been a crazy week, and a lot happened. But first so you all know I got my last transfer news, :( it is crazy how time is flying that I am at my last transfer. And for my last transfer I will be staying in my area but I will be training a new missionary! Haha when I got the call Sunday night I was a little shocked and thought, well alright, here we go. But I am so excited and know that it is all going to be good!
Monday night was just what I needed, I have been not doing too well for the last couple of weeks and had been pondering if I would get a Priesthood blessing. I got to the point that I needed one, so we texted brother Murray and went over to their house. He and President White were there and they were able to talk to me and give me a blessing. I just am so grateful for the Priesthood in my life and when they put their hands on my head a big rush of
peace came to me and it felt really good! It was everything that I needed to hear and I was so grateful that I knew that he was someone that I could count on and that he could help me.
Tuesday was good. It was the last call that we had with all of our sisters and the elders. All I have to say is it has been amazing to be able to serve with all of these sisters and be able to work with them! I am grateful for them all and they all have a special place in my heart. And then it was a lot of fun to be able to get to know all of the elders and about them. It was amazing and I loved it a lot. We went to someone that was a media referral. Her and her family had just moved here at the beginning of the month from another country. They are very interested in our English class but also the Church. So we were able to
show them the BOM and share how it can help them. It was really cool to be able to see the light that people have when they look at it for the first time. Then we had a lesson with Tehani and Vincent, and Sister Barillas. It was amazing. We were able to go through everything that was going to happen at her baptism and what to expect. Sister Barillas was able to share experiences and things that were able to help them. We were so close to the lesson being over and all of the sudden my phone died. My phone has been acting up and the cord is not working. And there it was, well it wouldn't charge. We then ran to the sisters who live close to the church and we were able to charge the phone at their apartment. It was really good but I felt so bad, but knew that things like that happen. Good thing they all understood and things were good!
We then went and had an amazing dinner with Sister Duddeck we were able to visit with her, she is so cute and is always to trying to feed us. We went to our branch's young men activity. They were going over what this year's theme is and free pizza. I am never going to say no to that!
We then went to English class and we had a good turn out. It was Sister Snow's last class and awesome to be able to have a good class. All of them are so sweet and we were able to help them all learn more. I love it so much.
Wednesday we got up and did our studies and then went to the church and I practiced a song that I performed at
the baptism. It was fun to be able to practice. It is a beautiful song. When we were leaving the building with the Sisters, because one of them is playing the piano for me, we saw this lady playing with her dog. So we went and talked to her, she was so sweet, she takes her dog there a lot to play and throw a ball. They were wondering what the building is, after we explained everything she was very interested in learning more. It was cool to see her willingness and desire to learn.
Then we went and had lunch with the Sisters, it was fun to spend some time with them!
After that we had our lesson with Tiffany, she is doing amazing on the word of wisdom and cutting down a lot! She has a lot of faith and it is amazing to watch. We were able to talk about struggles and what we do during the hard times and even though she is not a member she has amazing faith and gives it all to our Savior, Jesus Christ! I love her so much and I am blessed to be able to work with her.
We then went street contacting and talked to a lot of people.
That night we went to Juan and Guadalupe's again. They fed us some interesting food but it was really good! They are so sweet and we have been able to grow a good relationship with them. They are just so sweet!
We then went to the Christensen's for our lesson, that is an amazing family that I love so much. We went over everything for the baptism and made sure we had everything.
And then we had a phone call with Philly, we are trying to work with him. He is having a hard time right now but we know that it will all work out the way that it needs to.
Thursday we had a meeting with the missionary leaders in the morning. It was good to be able to talk about how the mission is doing and ways that we can continue to help it improve!
Then we went out to lunch with some of our sisters, for one last companion study and to say goodbye. We went to Panda Express and it was a lot of fun. We were able to talk about what is going on and how we can help them!
There was this cute older man who paid for two of the sisters food and then gave me and Sister Jaynes money. He was so sweet and kind, he was so grateful for us. It was amazing and so sweet. And then my fortune cookie was so funny. I watched a few things going on and it is so funny a little slip of paper can give you a thought or something that you should do and it goes along with things that have been happening in the week. All I have to say is, God knows and he has a sense of humor. We
then went and weekly planned for the last them this transfer. It went really good and we were able to get everything done for the baptism. Most of our lessons didn't happen that night, so we went and sat at a park and called people. We had a good lesson with Lumy. She is someone that wants to learn more about the gospel. She has been reading the BOM, we were able to talk about what she has read. Her desire is amazing, she just wants to learn and grow!
We had a good night of calls and got to talk to a lot of people.
Friday was so much fun, Thursday night I made an Elmo cake for a sister that we work with for her birthday. So we first went to our district council and had a good last one. The elders showed up late so it made it fun! But I have been grateful to be able to work with them all and get to know them. We then went to our sister's district council meeting. We brought the cake and a party with us! They had a good district council meeting and we were able to get a lot out of it. Then we went and sang happy birthday to Sister May! It was so much fun, she is so cute and let's just say 20 candles that is a lot of smoke and trying not to make the fire detector go off was fun. But with a bunch of elders, it is eventful! We had so much fun there were a lot of good elders.
We then went to Trish’s house and we were able to talk to her and her husband. We made BOM’s with Jesus pictures on them! It was so cute and they loved it so much. We were able to talk with them and see how they are doing. They are going through a rough time but they will get through it!
And then we went to TEHANI'S BAPTISM!!! And let me just say that it was the most amazing baptism ever. We got there and got everything ready. I practiced my song and then everyone was getting there. We got everything ready and then we started. The spirit was so amazing, everything was just the way that it needed to be. Mike, a recent convert, spoke on baptism and it was so amazing, he did so good! And then after both the talks I did my
musical number, it was Free My Soul from the youth album. And I was so nervous but it went really well, I got a lot of compliments. We then had her baptism, we got her in there and me and Sister Snow were the witnesses. It was amazing when he was saying her name (she is from Hawaii and has the longest middle name ever) and her friend memorized it for her. My heart was warmed, and then when she went down the spirit was so strong. She got up and squealed and gave him a big hug! It was so cute and amazing it brought a tear to my eye. She went and got changed and everyone was writing notes for her and Sister Walker a cute member in the ward turned to me and told me, that when I was singing my song all of the sudden her youngest daughter kendall who is 3 years old turned to her with a frown on her face and crying said
“mom what is coming out of her to make me feel this way?”, her mom asked “are you sad?”. She said “no I am not sad, I am happy and I don't know why I am crying”. Her mom was able to teach her about the spirit and she thanked me for that. She was crying telling me that and then I started to cry!
And then Tehani shared her testimony and let me say it was the most amazing testimony that I had ever heard. She has been through a lot in her life and things have not gone her way
but she had seen the hand of the Lord in her life and it was and is amazing! She had everyone in tears, let me just say that was one of the most amazing baptisms that I have ever been to, and blessed that I was able to participate in that!!!
After that we went and got Café Río. We didn't have lunch or dinner and were so hungry. It was such an amazing day and I was so blessed, and didn't understand why God would let me be a part of the most amazing experience ever!!!
Then on Saturday we had an amazing day, we had camp Preach my Gospel. It is where youth come out with us for a day to see what missionary work is like. So for the day we had Chloe and Emma. And they were the cutest things ever!
But they also drove us around for the day. We first went to Toyas home, they were going to cancel but we were busy and still went over. It was good for the girls to get to know her and learn from her experience. Then we went
street contacting, no one wanted to talk to us and kept saying no! Right at the end a little boy saw us and screamed while he was running away. Haha I didn't know I had that effect on people.:)
We then went and had our best lesson with the Gleason. Helping their son understand what he wants and why he wants to be baptized. It was good, we are going to start teaching the lessons to him. And then we went
to the Caceres’s families for dinner. They got us canes and it was the most amazing thing ever it just made my day. After that we went and had a lesson with Matilde and started to get everything ready for her baptism, it was so good and an amazing experience. We then went to Hermano Perez's home and had our friends teach our last lesson. For them to practice all day and then have the opportunity themselfs to do it! It was so cool and amazing.
After our car ride it was so sad to say goodbye. But it was also a good thing because we came and there were some sisters and they were talking to some elders. I walked up and asked how long they had been there for and the elders waited an hour because they didn't want the sisters
waiting in the dark all alone for a ride. All of the sudden I turned to them and told them that I respected them! Their reactions were the best thing ever, they acted like they had never heard that before. Like they were told that someone loved them for the first time and was proud of them! It was very nice for them to stay with the Sisters.
We took the sisters home and had a good night.
Then Sunday, what a morning. We went to ward council and no one came, stupid missionaries it is 5th Sunday so what did in do I took a nap on the couch! I was so dead. Then it was Teahni’s confirmation and it was amazing. She looked amazing and the spirit was so strong. We had an amazing church service and something we needed to hear. Then we went to our Spanish branch and it was good there also, we had a long meeting after and it felt like 10 years long. I didn't eat all day and was so tired so to say the least it was fun!
For dinner we went to the Taylor's and it was so much fun. I love them so much. I had a tender moment with President Taylor at the baptism and they are an amazing family. We then had a few lessons and a devotional. Then that night I got a call about transfers. President called me and told me that I would be training for my last transfer. He told me that he needed his best leaders to train and that is why he was talking me away from Sister Training Leader so I could train. He told me what would be done in 12 weeks I needed to do in 6I want to share with you all 3 Nephi 1:13
"Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow come I into the world, to show unto
the world that I will fulfil all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets."
I love this scripture so much! The sign that Christ is coming into the world to save us all from our sins. Lift up your hearts. This is a joyous thing, nothing to be sad about, that signs have been shown and I will show another that this is real and this is happening! That "I am the Christ that the Prophets have testified about, that I may come unto the world to redeem them from their sins."
He is the most amazing person ever, I love my Savior, Jesus Christ for all that he has done for me! The best thing that I have done for myself is gain a relationship and testimony with him! He is our Savior and Redeemer, the light and life of the world. He is my brother and my best friend. I would invite you all if you don't to find out if He is there and gain a testimony and relationship with him. He will help you and be there for you. You will feel His presence more!
I love you all, have a good week!
