Hey everyone I hope that you all have had a good week! School is out and I hope you are all jamming out!
This week has been a crazy one, my first week of being a trainer and it has been fun and we have been working hard. The first day was a lot of fun, we went and I got to pick her up! She is so cute. Her name is Hermana Manwaring and she is from Alaska. She is reassigned to Las Vegas temporarily, her mission call is to Uruguay, and is so cute I can't wait to get to know her and work with her more! Her first day we were able to go out and street contact and we found someone! It was one of the best street contacts and it was so amazing!
We have been able to meet with some members and visit with them and their families and continue to do the work!
We had two lessons with Samantha this week, and prepared her for her interview! Her interview was on Sunday and she passed!!! She is so elect and we can't wait for her baptism, it is going to be on the 12th and everything is getting planned!
We found out that because both me and my companion speak Spanish we are able to help with Centro Hispano again, yaya I am so excited I have missed it and the Latinos are so cute and friendly. They just love everyone!
We continue to have lessons with Ron, Perry, Joseph, and Brandon. They continue to progress well and will be able to be baptized at some point, but we are trying to make them dry members. They love church every week and every time we have the opportunity we get them to a baptism, they love the spirit that they feel!
One of the things that we did this week is we went ham on street contacting. We took every opportunity to find, we found 9 people this week and it was still a good week! But the other week we had a lesson with the 4 of them and were a few minutes early and we decided to walk down the street and see if there was anything. We found two ladies who were interested in learning more and they were interested in the Spanish class that we are teaching, so they are going to bring their friends! What a small little win, taking every opportunity and running with it! It made me so happy, and then a killer lesson right after it!
Last night when we were in our Sunday devotional all of the sudden we got a knock on the door and it was one of our elders. Their phone had died and they didn't have a car! It was so late and they were stranded, they stood outside our door and we called the DL to come and give them a ride and help them. It was so funny that was the last thing that I would have expected but glad they could come and get some help!
It has been a crazy week, just working hard and doing all that I can! Time just keeps going and I am loving the people!
This week I want to share with you all is Moses 1: 3-4, 25
3 And God spoke unto Moses, saying: Behold, I am the Lord God Almighty, and Endless is my name; for I am without beginning of days or end of years; and is not this endless?
4 And, behold, thou art my son; wherefore look, and I will show thee the workmanship of mine hands; but not all, for my works are without end, and also my words, for they never cease.
25 And calling upon the name of God, he beheld his glory again, for it was upon him; and he heard a voice, saying: Blessed art thou, Moses, for I, the Almighty, have chosen thee, and thou shalt be made stronger than many waters; for they shall obey thy command as if thou wert God.
When God says thou art my son replace it with son or daughter and even your name (thou art my Katelyn) God knows us all and individually and is here for us, he loves us and is willing to show us that he cares about us and is proud of us. It is crazy to think, this week I was able to have a Priesthood blessing and in it it said that He is proud of me. How crazy to think that
the Creator of the world, the one who can control all, is proud of this imperfect person. But because we do all that we can he is proud of me. He is proud of you, just think about that!
Satan is going to throw all that he can at us. He is going to make us feel like nothing, but how great is it that God has called imperfect people to do the work of an Almighty God and he is so proud of all we do. But that we are all strong enough to control the waters and the earth as we turn to God, do all that he has asked us to do and become the disciples of God that we can become!
There were many things that I was reminded of this week and I want to share a few with you,
fears will be turned to faith - turn to Him & give Him your fears
there are people out there waiting for you specifically
Remember that He is here for you and He loves you, but no matter if you are a missionary or not there are people out there waiting for YOU!
Make sure that you are friends with everyone and loving everyone, we can all be friends and that we want all to come unto the love and knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ! I want to invite you all to find one new friend this week and share with them the love that our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ have for them.
And I can PROMISE you that as you do this you will find a joy that you haven’t felt in a while, challenges in your life with get easier and that questions that you have had for a while will be answered because of your diligence and willingness to turn to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I promise that you, each and everyone of you, that you also know the love our Savior has for each of you! I love you all so much and thank you all for being amazing examples in my life!
I hope you all have a wonderful week and continue to be you!
Love ya, till next week
Liana and I received this email from President Rodarte this week. We wanted to add it to Katie's mission blog.

RE: New Leadership Assignment
Dear Family of Sister Jackson,
It is an honor to serve with your wonderful daughter in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission. I am pleased to inform you that she has been assigned to be a Trainer of a new missionary. This is a trusted position in a mission and comes to those who have demonstrated obedience and devotion. As a role model, she will provide leadership to other missionaries in her assigned areas.
Sister Jackson is a sincere and dedicated missionary, truly worthy in every aspect to be the Savior's representative. I extend my appreciation to you for raising such a faithful daughter and sharing her with us.
May you and your family experience the sweet spirit and wonderful blessings that our Heavenly Father reserves for those who are called and set apart to serve Him and the Savior in His vineyard.
With all my love and gratitude,
Frank C Rodarte Jr
President
Nevada Las Vegas Mission
