A Full Week!!!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well! This week has been a good week, we started the week off good with a great p-day.

This week we had the mask mandate come back, and it is the worst! But we had a good time at Centro Hispano, our students are progressing so much and we have the biggest class in the center. It is so much fun and so rewarding!

It was a little bit of a sad week, one of my mission friends that I got super close to all of the sudden had to go home for medical reasons. It was hard to say goodbye but I know that she was out here for me and I got to meet her and see the light and the love that she had for the people!

On Tuesday Carolyn called us in the morning in a panic, her husband was not doing well and went to the hospital. So we were able to go right over and see her and talk to her. She was sad and it was scary that it was all happening at once but she wasn't scared if it was his time to go home because she has come to learn about the plan of salvation and the love that God has for all of us, and the plan that he has given us. It was so amazing so see that but also to be some support for her at this time.

This week we were able to help move a hoarder. There is a difference in helping one clean and they know that they want some help getting rid of things, and one that is moving and wants to keep all of her things. It was so crazy her apartment was full and we started bagging and boxing. And we made a little progress with everything that she has but she also has 3 storage units full of her things. That " there is no room in the apartment for but I want to keep it." it was insane, she was an interesting lady and lived really close to the strip. It was a little scary getting close to it. It is Satan's playground, and has weird and nasty vibes.

We went to Taco Bell after that because the elders love it, and one of the elders bet Sister Manwaring that she couldn't drink more Baja Blast than him and she took the challenge. Well, she has never had soda before and has never had caffeine before. After 3 - 32oz drinks of Baja Blast she lost and was off the walls and was insane the rest of the day! She couldn't stop shaking and her words were almost slurred. It was crazy!

We were able to go to a member's house for breakfast and have a nice meal and chat with them. It was so cool because they were telling us about a friend that they have been talking to about the church and he sounds interested in joining, it was so cool.

We were also able to set one of our friends Ron on date. We were doing a phone lesson and he has read most of the Book of Mormon, he’s in 3 Nephi. After talking with him we felt like we should invite him. We talked about baptism and if he has ever thought about it, he has, it was so cool, he said he has been thinking about it. We invited him and he said yes. It was great to be able to see him make that commitment and desire to change. It was such a happy moment and we are excited to see this happen for him.

We were also able to have a pass off lesson with the elders. We went over bright early in the morning, and it was so cool this guy Jimmy has a desire to learn more. He was telling us what he believes and it was so funny, he believes most of the same things that we do. He all of the sudden says that I believe that Jesus Christ came to the Americas and taught the people there. And my jaw just dropped, it was so cool to be able to see that. He is so promising. He came to church and was just taking everything in, learning so much and having that desire.

We were able to go to Gaylene's finally! We got there and she said it was so good to see us and we have missed her. We asked her how she has been doing and all of the sudden she starts telling us everything that has been going wrong. Life wasn't going the way that it was planned, we looked at her and told her it was about 2 weeks ago since we have been to her house. And it has been 2 weeks since she has read the Book of Mormon and since she has come to church. It was cool to explain it to her, and help her to realize that this was going on. We were glad to help her and can't wait to help her make that progress.

And then there was a “Why I Believe” meeting. We were able to go and see all of the missionaries, it was so good to see all of them. But the most amazing thing about the whole thing were the testimonies, and how they were able to make progress into the church. The spirit was so strong, my jaw just dropped at how much they were all willing to give to the Lord. And show him that this was his church.

I want to share with you all 3 Nephi 12:19

19 And behold, I have given you the law and the commandments of my Father, that ye shall believe in me, and that ye shall repent of your sins, and come unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Behold, ye have the commandments before you, and the law is fulfilled.

I love right at the beginning it says to believe in me. I love that it says that, because that is such a powerful statement. It is sometimes so hard to know, but sometimes all I can say is I believe. And I think that is enough sometimes. Belief is a powerful thing and helps us to grow more and have more faith. And then we need to repent of our sins. Jesus gave it all to us and he atoned for everything, we need to use that and make sure that we don't make it a waste where we and Chirst both sacrificed. Give it all to him, with a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Show him you are willing to give it all to him. It is something that isn't easy at all, it takes time and practice. And it is still something that I am working on, but when we try and try over time he is going to help us. I love my Savior Jesus Christ so much and know He is here to help us. Call unto Him and make sure that you know that he is here for you.

I love you all and hope you have a good week!
