What a week it has been, first we had transfer news and I am staying with Sister Wright and we are keeping our area and taking the other half of the Spanish branch and also an English ward. So we will be over the whole Spanish branch and adding an English ward. It is going to be a lot of fun and busy which I am excited for.
Monday we started out with a good p-day!
Then Tuesday we went and practiced the dance. When we got there things were set up for a funeral so we had to go and practice in the primary room. It was a lot of fun, we are so ready for it! We went to the park and did all of our studies there. It was really nice to get outside, there was a little girl who was singing at the park. It was so funny we got a good laugh out of that. Then we went and got snow cones and it was really good, fun to take a little break.
English class, so much fun. There was a girl that came and she helped us out. She said that she wants to come back and help us out. It was so exciting. She is so cute! Then we went to our Bishop’s house, his wife made us rice bags to be able to heat up and use. It was so sweet and so much fun.
Wednesday we had an awesome call with Kirsten, she is someone that we found at the park and we have had a hard time getting in contact with her. We finally were able to get a
call with her and she wants to learn more about our church and read the BOM. She sounded so excited and we can't wait to help her learn more. We then went and heart attacked one of the lady's doors that we are teaching. It was so cute we hope that she liked it, it was a lot of fun to do.
Then we went to a members house to do a quick visit, we told them that we could only do a visit, well we walked in and they had dinner for us. Haha we had to wait for it to be finished
and then hurry and ate dinner with them. We quickly shared a message and then we're getting ready to go. We were getting up and they told us to sit back down because they wanted to feed us ice cream. We told them that we could do it fast. We finally got out and ran to the church. We had a meeting with our ward mission leader.
We then came home that night and made masks for the dance!
Thursday we had our last weekly planning of the transfer. Then we went and rocket shipped some of our member’s doors, this is when you put rocket ships and planets all over their door. It was fun to be able to go do something for them when they are going through a hard time. Then we had a sports night. We were playing chair soccer and I was taking the ball down the court and I rolled on the ball and almost fell. I thought that I twisted my ankle but thought nothing of it, I just kept playing and finished the night. We were getting ready to go
home and I felt something was off. I got home and I had to make biscuits for a practice round for culture night, and I couldn't walk. Haha, so I iced it and went to bed. Then I woke up and it was still hurting but not as bad. I took it easy, it was still really swollen but it wasn't hurting as bad. Well so you know, it was still swollen but it didn't hurt at all. God is real and He blessed me so much. He made it so I would be able to dance and work that day. It was insane. Now it is all good and back to normal.
We went Friday morning and taught English class. It was a lot of fun to be able to go and help others learn more. We then went and had our last district council. It was so sad, a lot of memories and fun remembering the last transfer and what happened. I had a great district and it was a lot of fun.
Then we went street contacting, it was a lot of fun to talk to everyone and see different people. We did talk to this one crazy lady, she asked us to pray with her. By the end of the conversation we were able to pray with her. But she was not all the way there, I am so blessed that I have the chance to meet all of God's children and do my best to help them even if it is just a prayer. Then we went over to the Murray’s for cake and ice cream. Hna Murray hurt her
back so we were able to go and visit her and then get to stay and talk with her.
Saturday, the big day. We got up and about 10 we went to the church to go and help set up. We put flags on strings so they would be able to hang it up in the air. That took forever. We got a few more things done. There was another party in the cultural hall, they came in and invited us to come and eat pizza with them. It was so good and then one of the ladies in the ward knew how to country dance so she taught us Footloose. And then I was able to see Bishop and Sister Fish. It was so fun for them to come down and to come and say hi. I was able to catch up with them and talk. It was fun to be able to see them!!!
We then filled up the piƱata with candy and hung it up. Put some more things up and practiced our dance one last time. We went to the store to pick some things up for culture night and then we came back to the church and got ready. We got our hair and makeup done and then put on the whole outfit. It was so much fun to be able to do that. We went out and there were so many people there, they were all so happy and it looked amazing. There were a lot of different tables with food and a lot of people. We all had a blast talking, and then when they were mostly done with the food we performed our dance. Oh my it was so good and fun. Let's just say we were amazing! Then some people went up and sang, I love the Latinos they don't care, they just go for it. We went and changed into our jeans and taught them all footloose. It was fun to
show them something that we love, and then we all just danced the rest of the night until it was over. I am so blessed I was able to participate in it.
Let's just say that on Sunday I had a Mormon hangover. We were so tired the next day! But we were able to go the Rodriguez and had pupusas. Pupusas is a Masa, a bread with meat. So good!
I would love to share with you all Moses 5:5-6
"5 And he gave unto them commandments, that they should worship the Lord their God, and should offer the firstlings of their flocks, for an offering unto the Lord. And Adam was obedient unto the commandments of the Lord.
6 And after many days an angel of the Lord appeared unto Adam, saying: Why dost thou offer sacrifices unto the Lord? And Adam said unto him: I know not, save the Lord
commanded me."
This is something that I studies this morning. Obedience! This is something that I am continually working on and it is not easy. I love this part so much though, Adam and Eve were put through a lot even though they didn't always know what was going on. They had to learn for themselves, but they fasted and they prayed and asked for help to know what they were supposed to do. They were also given
the commandments, they didn't understand them all the way but because they were obeying the first Commandment to love God, than they loved God enough to do it.
I want that! I want to be like Adam and Eve and when things are unsure have faith in God’s plan, because the Lord has a plan and He knows what He is doing and we need to trust Him. A mission is not easy and it won't ever be but it is how I take it and how I deal with it. God is going to bless us all because of our efforts. As long as I am doing my best and doing all that I can to follow God and keep his commandments. But also becoming better and better every day. Then that is all that matters and that is something that God has asked. He loves each and
I love our Savior Jesus Christ so much and my Father in Heaven! They have given me everything, my family and this Gospel. And I have the opportunity to share that with others. I am so blessed for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I don't know how I would have been able to make it through without him. I am trying to become like him. It is going to take time but I know that my effort is going to pay off! I love this Gospel and the Lord, trusting in the Lord can be hard. But I know that is all going to work out and be the best for me! Try try again! I love you all so much and hope you have the best week ever.
Also if you have time I would love to hear from you!
