Hello everyone, I hope that you all have had a good week.
We started off this week Tuesday morning with a dance practice. I don't know if I told you guys but at the end of this month my branch is going to be having a Cultural Night. Everyone is going to bring something from where they are from. And then they are having the Sister Missionaries dance. We are doing a Latina dance with the big skirts and then the shoes where we will be tapping them. We got everything choreographed have had a lot of fun learning how to dance with the big skirts and Mexican dancing shoes. On Thursday when we did another practice all of the sudden the office missionaries in the church building came in to see what was going on. They saw that we were dancing and they came and watched us. It was so cute and so sweet.
And then also on Tuesday all of the cucarachas (cockroaches) came out in our apartment. We were killing them left to right and we were all done with them. So we called a member in our ward and he came over and he sprayed for us. What a blessing it was, he came over so fast. It helped so much but they were still coming out, but now they were all dying. Now slowly they are gone and not coming back!!! It was a whole mess this week with all of that.
Then we had English class, we had a new lady come and it was a lot of fun to teach her. I love English class and being able to help others learn more. We also taught Patricia and Yerlis this week. They are all so dedicated and willing to try. They help us learn Spanish and we help them with English.
Then we went and practiced a song, we may be singing in church soon so we were practicing for that.
And then it was my mom's birthday! I was able to call her and see her on her birthday. It was so exciting to be able to do that.
Then Sister Downer, the Housing lady, came to our apartment. She is so cute she just came over and wanted to teach us all she knows about cleaning. We found the cucarachas and she was not happy so she went and now they are going to finally do something. Yayaya it’s so exciting.
And then that night we found out that Judy, the lady that we are teaching, is going back to Peru. It is so sad, but good thing there are missionaries everywhere you go and she will be able to be taught down there. She was so cute and nice so whatever is best for her, we are happy for her.
On Thursday we had sports night. We were able to play volleyball and we had quite a few members come. A member with her non-member son came and he had a blast. It was fun to get to know all of them more and be able to have a good night.
On Friday we had a huge rain storm, the streets were flooded, it was insane. Let's just say that people do not know how to drive here in the rain. The puddles were so big and they just sped right through them. We went to District Council and it was still pouring rain and we knew we were going to get soaked, all of the sudden it stopped and we were able to go in. Let me just say I miss the rain and it felt so good to have it.
We had an amazing lesson with Claudia and were able to talk about The Family Proclamation. We related it to the temple and it was so cool to see the light in her eyes and the desire that she has to go into the temple.
Then that night we called Thomas, he is so amazing. We found him at the park and he loves Jesus. I mean who doesn't, haha. But we had a long conversation and he was telling us all that he believes and he agrees with almost everything that we do. It is going to be fast but he is going to be baptized. Ever since we have met with him he has been reading the Book of Mormon. And he loves it, he has shared it with his family and from that he found out that his mom is also meeting with the missionaries. How cool is that!
Saturday we went and did a service project, we moved a bishop. It felt really good to get out and be outside while helping to move someone. It was a lot of fun to spend some time with our district.
We went to see the Rodriguez family and had a meal with
them. They are a cute family that we go over about once a week and visit them! Sunday we were able to go help with Primary. There were 15 kids, the most that they have ever had. It was fun to sing with them and see their little testimonies. We then watched a Face to Face with our district. It was Elder Bednar and Sis. Bednar. It was so good and inspiring something that was meant to be shared. Always inspiring and so glad for the opportunity to watch it. After that we went street contacting at a park and we talked to so many people and we had a lot of amazing conversations. We found 5 people, we were on fire last night!
John 12:26-27
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
I love these scriptures so much. He has given us the Holy Ghost, to be our comforter and who is never going to leave us. He is going to give us everything we need at the moment. When we work hard to study and try to remember something He is going to bring it back to our memory when we need it. When we go through something hard and things are not going your way He is going to bring peace into our lives that our hearts will feel peace and that in the end it is all going to be alright.
I love you all and hope that you have a good week!
